TAoPaN Workshop : Sialia Photography - New York City - Maternity and Newborn Photographer

Many of you who see me on Facebook know that last Friday and Saturday I attended the TAoPaN maternity and newborn workshop in NYC. Well, I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had AND how much I learned! It was an amazing experience to shoot in downtown Manhattan and up on the 16th floor of a beautiful natural and studio light studio. The studio was a natural light photographers dream; there was so much natural light pouring in from all directions {grin}. There were 10 of us all together coming in from all over: Boston, Albany, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut {sorry if I missed anyone ;)}


The workshop was taught by Ana Brandt of Ana Brandt Photography and let me just say she was amazing. She is not only a fantastic photographer, but she is also a marketing whiz. My head is literally swimming with all the ideas that she gave us; there literally aren't enough hours in the day to get together all the ideas that she gave to us. All I have to say is get ready for some major rebranding and continued improvements from Sialia Photography.


I believe that in your life you should be able to do the things that truly make you happy and give you great joy {your passion}. I believe that finally, at {almost} the age of 35, that I have found my passion and it is maternity {including birth}, newborn and family photography. Outside the love and joy that my children and husband give me, there are very few things in life that make me as happy as my photography.  I love the feeling that I get when I am photographing someone straight through editing and delivery prints to my clients! I get a warm and excited feeling that makes me so happy.

Setting up for a unique hanging sling.  Miss "C's" momma brought her belly cast with her and we were able to work it into a hanging sling.

This is one of my favorites of this series. I just love how peaceful she looks here.
